Day 3 - Much Ado About Pots

As this was a vacation for the both of us, mom decided this day to take a trip to Stoke-on-Trent, the famous ceramics and potteries town. We went into some stores for Royal Doulton and other vases and figures. I found it increasingly boring, actually. We ended up taking a tour of the Wedgwood factory as they made fancy bone plates. It was only at the end of the tour that my interest really perked up.

This would be me trying my damndest to hold a piece of clay on a clay wheel. That stuff hurts if you don't keep your hands wet! (You might also note my brand new Manchester United jersey. Go me!)

Admiring my handywork. See, gentlemen (and ladies)? I am good with my hands. (Even the master clay guy said so!)

A close-up of the wonderful Pot. A little lopsided, but we paid to have it fired and sent over. I'm still waiting for it to show up, actually. By then it'll be beautiful and blue.

This would be a random picture of the landscape, taken as we headed back home from Stoke. You will see many more random scenery shots like this, and hopefully I'll be able to tell you where they were taken. Unlike this one.

On the way back we passed Capesthorne, a stately home. Unfortunatly it was closed at the time, so we never went back. Looked nice, though.

What started out as a really boring excursion turned out to be pretty interesting. I just can't wait until I get my pot so I can show everyone. Is it here yet? UPDATE: The pot is here and it's blue! According to Canadian Customs, it's also worth $25. Go me!
